# Install the Salesforce App

## Salesforce Account Prerequisities <a href="#salesforce-account-prerequisities" id="salesforce-account-prerequisities"></a>

You will need to be a System Administrator to install the package and perform configuration steps.

The Omnata setup process leverages Lightning components, so your Salesforce installation must have [My Domain](https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=domain_name_overview.htm\&type=5) configured. Most organisations will have this enabled in production already, but new development environments may require this step to be performed.

## Package Installation <a href="#package-installation" id="package-installation"></a>

Snowflake for Salesforce can be installed directly from the Salesforce AppExchange by following [this link](https://appexchange.salesforce.com/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N3A00000FZFVGUA5).

The decision to install for Admins Only, All Users or Specific Profiles depends on the scenario. For an evaluation in a development environment, All Users can be included in the trial. In Production, it will depend on whether you intend for all users to be able to access Snowflake data, or just a subset of users.

You can always change these access settings later.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.omnata.com/omnata-product-documentation/omnata-connect-for-salesforce/getting-started/install-the-salesforce-app.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
